Monthly Favorites [September]

Here are some of the things that I’ve been obsessed with this past month:

For Love & Lemons SKIVVIES

I bought this a while back, but I absolutely love the style and color. I picked this darker color because it would work for any season. I personally found that the best way to wear it is under a sheer shirt or something that will show off the lace. Who says you can’t wear sexy lingerie out? All the stars have been sporting their sexy sleepwear out in public. Their items can be on the more expensive end, but they do have a couple of big sales at the end of each season.

Simply Curated //Guava Fig Candle

I’ve always had a huge obsession with buying candles. My personal scent preference is something fresh and clean. The guava fig smells delicious. The best part is that these candles are 100% soy and has a cool wooden wick.

I also paired the purchase with some cute matches. Something about using matches that make the experience so much more elegant than a boring lighter.

Aesop // Parsley Seed Facial Cleanser & Immediate Moisture Facial Hydrosol

This past year has been rough on my skin and I finally found some products that have worked really well for me. Aesop has all natural products for all skin types.

The facial cleanser is perfect for people who live in a city with high pollution because it cleans all the dirt that might get trapped in your pores. Best of all, it doesn’t leave your face dry like some other products would!

I also travel pretty often and long plane rides always leaves me feeling super gross. I purchased the moisturizing spray to help me with this issue. It has been a huge lifesaver and has become an essential for all my travel needs.

Girl Boss

This book is AWESOME! Sometimes we lose inspiration and start doubting ourselves. This book was motivational in many different ways. It was a quick and easy read for me [I personally don’t like reading]. If you’re feeling stressed with your career or questioning whether you’ll ever be successful, this is the book for you. #girlboss

Longline Vest

The longline look is super trendy and chic. What I love most about this look is that it can work for anyone and comes in various styles. My personal favorite longline item is this white vest from Forever 21. Because it is a trend item, I didn’t want to splurge too much on it.

I love the monochromatic vibe it brings as it instantly makes any outfit look more fashionable. I decided to style this white vest with a patterned crop top and leather shorts. To emphasize my statement piece, I decided to go with a more simple look. You can also wear this with a bodycon dress or a simple tee and jeans for a different style and feel.

I can’t wait to put together more OOTDs with this vest. Hopefully, you'll find a longline styled piece for yourself.

Black Fringe

I recently received a wonderful opportunity to collaborate with Liberty Garden to style a dress from their collection.

When I first put on the Fringe Suede Dress, I instantly fell in love. This dress is the perfect “Little Black Dress”, but the fringe detail adds a nice chic touch. What I love the most about the piece is the fact that it's suede. The texture and material instantly gives this outfit an upgraded feel.

This dress is also very versatile and can easily be styled for any occasion. You can go from a day to night look by switching your accessories, shoes, and makeup. I was inspired by festival season to pair it with some statement jewelry, a hat, and Dolce Vita boots. This look gives a polished feel, and it's great to run around town and meet up with friends in. It has also become one of my go to outfits for the weekends. If you want to dress it up a bit, you can easily slip on a pair of cute heels for a perfect date night look too!

Make sure to go check out their website (libertygarden.net) and follow them on Instagram @liberty_garden to see their new collection.

Army Green Parka

Today, I decided to go simple and wear some of my favorite pieces from my closet. I bought this casual army green parka from Topshop ages ago, and it has never gone out of style. It feels like an accomplishment when you find a clothing item that will stay in style for years.

My favorite thing about the parka is that it’s super versatile. You can make it more casual with some high waisted jean shorts or dress it up with a body con dress. Since it was a nice day out, I threw my parka over a simple Urban Outfitters tank with some DIY knee ripped jeans. To add a more feminine touch, I styled it with some cute chunky heels from Forever 21. These shoes have been my recent obsession and I own it in two different colors.

I have worn this look to music festivals, work, and out with friends on the weekend. You can find similar parkas at various stores, and the styles range from the thickness of the material, hoods, and drawstrings. I look forward to seeing your parka OOTD.

A Touch of Lace

One of the biggest trends this year has been lace, and it's the perfect romantic addition to any outfit. I absolutely love pairing lace with my looks.
Some key lace pieces to own are a nice simple slip, shorts, and top. These items will enhance your closet and give you multiple fashion options.

My personal favorite lace piece is my dress from Urban Outfitters. The detail on the bottom pairs perfectly with a jean top or jacket. For the winter, I like to wear it under an oversized sweater.
This season, a ton of stores are selling lace trimmed sweaters, but if you already have a lace dress or slip, why not get creative and style it yourself? The best part is that you can style it with almost anything.

I can’t wait to see how you’ll wear your lace outfit. Feel free to share with me your inspiration on instagram #everydayflawless.

Black On Black

Black doesn't have to be boring if you do it the right way. I personally hated black growing up and always thought it was no fun. As I experimented around with tone on tone I fell in love with it more. Now black on black has been my recent obsession.

Helpful tips and guidelines to stick to when putting together an all black outfit.
  • Play with textures and different fabrics to create contrast.
  • Add a bold accessory to enhance the outfit. This is a great way to transition from day to night.
  • Try a bold red lip or bold red shoes. Black goes well with a pop of color.
  • Choosing the right fabric will allow you to wear all black for any season. (e.g. Leather is great for fall and winter.)

An all-black ensemble is chic, perfect for all occasions, and fits any body type. It is one of my favorite easy, go-to outfits for attending events, hanging out with friends, or going to a fun party.

I would love to see your black on black outfit. Feel free to share with me your inspiration via email or Instagram
